PRAISE FROM PARENTS WORLDWIDE
Over the years I’ve worked with parents all across the world, helping them to realize their bilingual or multilingual dream for their children. Below are the personal impressions of just some of these parents on the impact of private coaching. Perhaps you and your family would experience the same kind of powerful results?
“HE REALLY UNDERSTOOD WHERE I WAS COMING FROM”
Maggie in the US, originally from Bulgaria
“ADAM’S COACHING HAS BEEN INVALUABLE TO OUR FAMILY"

Caroline in Italy, originally from Malaysia
We live in Italy and the language we speak at home is English. When I first sought advice from Adam Beck, my eldest son was two years old. While his initial words at one year old were in English, upon starting childcare here in Italy he very quickly started replacing his English words with Italian ones. At two he would speak 80% Italian and only 20% English to us. When he was playing on his own he would speak Italian. Though my son was still very young, I contacted Adam in a panic as I felt very frustrated, saddened, and somewhat defeated by the fact that despite my efforts he was showing a clear preference for the majority language.
With Adam’s help, I was able to reflect on the strategies we had used so far, our goals, the amount of minority language input my son was receiving, and the bilingual experience in general. He listened very carefully and together we created a roadmap to turn the tide on my son’s language preference. His advice was incredibly insightful and gave me a fresh perspective. He encouraged me to continue to ask myself “What more can be done?” and he provided us with various creative solutions.
While Adam’s book, Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability, is an excellent resource and starting point, his personal coaching is essential for further support, encouragement, and tailor-made solutions towards a more harmonious bilingual parenting experience. He is a kind and genuine person who truly loves supporting bilingual and multilingual families.
My eldest son is now 3 years old and my youngest is 5 months old. I can now proudly say that with Adam’s guidance, my son very easily switches between English and Italian depending on the language the speaker is using. Adam’s coaching has been invaluable to our family and our bilingual journey. I can’t thank him enough!
“A GAME CHANGER FOR OUR BILINGUAL JOURNEY”

Renata in Germany, originally from Brazil
When I was pregnant, I read Adam’s book Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability then did my best to follow his recommendations from the beginning. Still, being the only person supporting my daughter’s minority language, after 6 months I felt tired and lost.
Adam helped me understand where I was and where I wanted to be. I felt very respected and seen. He gave me confidence in things about which I felt unsure, and guidance on how to move forward. My daughter is now 1 year and 6 months, and her language ability is equivalent in both Portuguese and German. I strongly believe we wouldn’t be where we are now without Adam’s support. It was a game changer for our bilingual journey.
“WE FEEL CONFIDENT THAT WE CAN ACCOMPLISH OUR GOALS”

Dani in the US
We’re so grateful for Adam and his coaching! We’ve found him to be personable, warm, and wonderful about keeping in touch and checking in on our family. He’s not only knowledgeable and well-connected in the world of bilingualism, he’s a caring and innovative individual who’s serious about helping parents define and reach their goals.
As a non-native speaker of our target language choosing the route of homeschooling, I personally had so many doubts that I could reach my goals of raising bilingual and biliterate children. Not only have Adam and his books been of tremendous assurance, but the tools he gave us have helped us so far raise two children who are dominant in our target language.
We still are young in our journey, but we feel much more confident that we can accomplish our goals for our kids. We can’t wait to see what their future holds!
“COACHING WITH ADAM WAS LIKE A BREATH OF FRESH AIR”

Daryna in Italy, originally from Ukraine
Coaching with Adam Beck was like a breath of fresh air.
Honestly, I was quite desperate in my situation with bilingualism for a variety of reasons: war in my country, a lack of language exposure, my husband speaks only one language, plans to move abroad, and more. It’s all kind of complicated and even though I already read so many books and articles on this topic, I still couldn’t come up with the solution. Coaching with Adam was helpful on so many levels, not only to establish the correct strategy but also to release all the mental pressure I was feeling.
We also discussed creative methods to enhance our language journey even more, especially with my elder child who is suuuuuuper active and not really willing to stay in one place and study. So now we’re learning through things like active games and role plays.
“WE HAVE ALSO HUGELY BENEFITED FROM HIS BLOG AND HIS BOOK”

Azadeh in Ireland, originally from Iran
Our son Ferdia was only three months old when I reached out to Adam Beck about our trilingual aim. With an Iranian mother and an Irish father, we want our son to develop a trilingual identity. Ferdia is connected to two distinct cultural traditions and three languages and we hope for him to be able to think in all of these languages, express himself, and develop emotional bonds to all of them.
Adam has provided huge support and encouragement for our son’s trilingual journey from an early age. Over the past two years, his in-depth insights and helpful tips have facilitated a solid foundation for our efforts. We also have hugely benefited from Adam’s blog, Bilingual Monkeys, and his book, Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability, which is the most practical and informative guidebook for empowering the bilingual or multilingual journey.
“I WISH ALL FAMILIES COULD HAVE HIS GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT”

Ana in Brazil
Since the time I was pregnant, I’ve been talking to my son in English so he could start learning this language early. But since I’m the only one at home who speaks English—my husband only speaks Portuguese—I was struggling to keep up with this and wishing that I had some professional support for our bilingual journey.
What a wonderful surprise when I found Adam’s work online! As a coach, Adam has been so kind and dedicated. He’s given me so many helpful ideas and encouraged me to keep going on this journey, showing me the benefits this will bring to my son’s life. I wish all families raising bilingual kids could have his guidance and support!
I will be forever thankful, Adam!
“I’VE RECEIVED ENORMOUS VALUE FROM ADAM”

Andy in Russia, originally from Spain
I’ve been a fan of Adam’s work (blog, books, coaching) since 2018. Though I was raised bilingual and then became multilingual myself, I’ve still received enormous value from Adam. This has enabled me and my majority-language spouse to raise two boys who speak the minority language in an environment that isn’t friendly to bilingualism.
“I REALIZED THAT I NEEDED PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT”

Yulia in Italy, originally from Russia
With 5 languages, and only 24 hours a day, I felt lost figuring out the best way to improve our multilingual journey and I realized that I needed professional support. After Adam became my coach, I didn’t have to do this alone. The roadmap we developed provided me with the steps to achieve our multilingual goal. After three months since starting the program, we’re really happy with the results. Thanks again, Adam, for your support!

“I CAME ACROSS ADAM AND IT WAS A MILESTONE IN MY LIFE”
Silvia in Scotland, originally from Spain
“DON’T DELAY, CHILDREN GROW UP SO FAST”

Ewa in Poland
I read Adam’s book Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability as well as a lot of the information at his blog, but I still decided to ask for his personal support. And I’m glad I did. Adam is an expert in raising bilingual children. He shared many ideas and examples with me, and he’s also an inspiring and motivating person. What I found extremely helpful was that his support focused, in particular, on my family’s potential, possibilities, and needs. Step by step, he explained how my family can expose our baby to English and how our efforts will evolve as he grows up.
If you’re considering coaching with Adam, don’t delay, children grow up so fast. With Adam’s coaching, you’ll get hands-on advice. I’ve benefited so much from my coaching with him.
“HE GAVE ME HOPE THAT WE CAN DO IT”

Jana in the US, originally from the Czech Republic
I’m one of those parents who hasn’t been consistent about using the minority language with their children. Emotionally, this has been a tough journey for me, and for them as well, filled with self-doubt, regret, some shame, and only a tiny bit of hope. But after I reached out to Adam, I felt much more hopeful and also less stressed and regretful about neglecting my native language when the girls were little.
Adam is very supportive and optimistic, and he doesn’t judge you. He gave me hope that we can do it and the inspiration to keep going
“IT’S ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA TO GET HELP FROM AN EXPERT”

Lucia in Denmark, originally from Spain
It doesn’t have to be difficult to raise bilingual kids, but sometimes it’s challenging to find the right strategy and that’s why it’s always a good idea to get help from an expert.
Before talking to Adam, I thought my family’s language strategy was a bit messy, as I’m passing on two languages and my husband (and community) are passing on another one. As a coach, Adam is very thorough and will ask many questions to be able to give you the best advice.
We were already in a good place when I reached out to him, as our older child had recently started to talk and he was responding to me in Spanish. But Adam helped us support his language development at this crucial time as well as be proactive with the language development of our younger child. Adam even suggested ways to include my husband in these efforts, too, despite his limitations in both my languages.
One year has passed since then and the progress made by both my older child and my husband, in both languages, is very impressive. We can’t be more grateful for the help we received from Adam.
“ADAM CAN HELP YOU REACH YOUR NEXT MILESTONE”

Nhu in Singapore, originally from Vietnam
I came across Adam’s book Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability when I had my first child. I knew I wanted to raise her multilingual, but wasn’t sure how to achieve that goal. The task seemed really daunting at that point, but Adam’s book was full of encouragement, as well as practical tips to maintain discipline for the heritage languages. From there, I started exploring Bilingual Monkeys and The Bilingual Zoo, which helped connect me to a wider community with the same goals. These sites provided so much encouragement and support and kept me committed to this multi-year journey of raising multilingual children.
When I decided to seek further advice, Adam was super responsive. His coaching style is warm and encouraging, while also challenging my own self beliefs and limitations. It’s been great knowing Adam and having him coach me through this journey. He’s truly passionate about this topic and it’s always evident through the sparks in his eyes as he talks!
Regardless of where you are on your bilingual or multilingual journey, Adam’s support can help you reach your next milestone. The hardest part is just taking that first step to reach out to him!
"I FEEL VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE HAD ADAM’S SUPPORT"

Virginia in the US, originally from Argentina
I first learned about Adam and his approach to raising bilingual/multilingual children through his book Maximize Your Child’s Bilingual Ability. The book made an impression on me and immediately stood out from other books on the subject for three main reasons:
- How practical it is – focusing not only on what he calls “perspectives” or “ways of thinking” about raising bilingual children, but also on what he calls “principles” or “ways of acting.” These principles are short, actionable items that one can put into practice right away.
- How positive the approach is – Adam’s positivity is contagious, he meets parents where they are, and has a remarkable, unwavering commitment to helping parents on their journey to increase their children’s bilingual ability, no matter how modest the goals.
- How Adam addresses emotional as well as practical challenges – this was the first book that, to my knowledge, addressed emotional challenges in such a loving and forward-thinking way.
So you can imagine how excited I was to learn that he was offering personal coaching!
Even though he was already familiar with my family’s story from interacting with him at The Bilingual Zoo forum, he nevertheless took the time to make sure he understood our background and current situation. With that understanding, he then moved onto clarifying our priorities and helping us explore reasonable goals for our family. This was a difficult conversation for my husband and I to have, and Adam was very skillful in his ability to handle it with care and support and, most importantly, in a non-judgmental way. Even though he is 100% committed to helping families achieve bilingual/multilingual success, he was at the same time very respectful and accepting of where our family was at that point. Adam really is a master of meeting people where they are and helping them set and achieve realistic goals. His coaching helped my husband and I see our situation a lot more clearly and honestly, so that making decisions about how to move forward in our journey became less riddled with confusion and uncertainty.
My family’s bilingual journey is a work in progress, and I feel very fortunate and grateful to have had Adam’s support and encouragement along the way. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking to raise a bilingual/multilingual family.
“I RECOMMEND COACHING FOR ANYONE WHO FEELS A LITTLE LOST”

Kasia in Poland
I really appreciate Adam’s personalized approach. He listened to my challenges and concerns when it came to bilingualism in our family. He gave me support as well as multiple strategies, suggestions, and ideas to help our family in this journey. I still go back to his suggestions to this day. I really recommend coaching with Adam for anyone who feels a little lost in their journey with bilingualism!
“I WOULDN’T HAVE MADE THE TIME TO REFLECT ON MY OWN”

Renee in the US
Coaching with Adam was very encouraging and helpful. He has a lot of experience and ideas. As we talked he kept important details in mind like my kids’ ages, our location, and our screen-free parenting approach. I really appreciated the questions he asked. He helped me see the gap between the effort my family is putting into our minority language and where we want to be. With Adam I outlined some reasonable goals that would keep my actions and aim aligned. I’m glad I took the time to talk with him. I wouldn’t have made the time to reflect and recalibrate on my own.

“HE HAS ENCOURAGED US WITH REALLY USEFUL TIPS”
Eva in Spain
“ONE YEAR LATER, I’M SO PROUD OF MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER”

Julia in the US, originally from Russia
My daughter Is 3 and she’s exposed to three languages on a daily basis: Russian (mother), Spanish (father), and English at school. I’m very motivated to develop and keep her Russian ability because it’s my first language and my family doesn’t speak any English. My husband also wants her to speak Spanish, but he isn’t as concerned since there are plenty of bilingual schools where we live and his family lives close by.
I worked with Adam after I read his book, which I found very helpful! His coaching helped me become more conscious of my efforts to support my daughter’s Russian. It was also a very encouraging experience. Adam reassured me that it’s possible to raise her trilingual and he gave me good tips on how to increase her exposure to Russian.
One year later, I can say that I’m so proud of myself and my daughter! Her ability in Russian is very strong and she speaks and sings in Russian to me! Many people have told me how amazing it is to hear a toddler speak three languages. Thank you, Adam, for believing in us!
“ADAM’S COACHING WAS A VERY IMPORTANT EXPERIENCE”

Tania in Argentina
Adam’s coaching was a very important and supportive experience in our bilingual journey. He is a warm and gentle person who takes time to go through your own family experience and doubts, your unique and specific situation, in order to help you and guide you with his expertise, well beyond books and theory.
If it wasn’t for his kind coaching, I would have had many more doubts, especially when people start to question me. Being a non-native speaker raising a bilingual child in a place with few opportunities to practice a second language is a challenge, but I’ve enjoyed it, we’ve learned a lot, and we’ve also had lots of fun. Thanks to Adam’s professional support, I now have a 3-and-a-half-year-old child who surprises family and everybody else with his cute English, and makes us laugh a lot. I think for a toddler being bilingual is doubly cute and fun, and we’re giving our kids the precious gift of a second language in an enjoyable way.
“THE KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EMPATHETIC PERSON YOU WANT”

Laura in the Netherlands, originally from Spain
Before talking to Adam, my husband and I had many doubts about how to approach our trilingual goal with our sons. Adam showed genuine interest in understanding our situation then shared his ideas on how to incorporate several activities into our daily routines. We gained new insights and discussed different ways to encourage the use of the minority languages at home.
Thank you, Adam, for giving us clear strategies for our trilingual journey! You also gave us reassurance and peace of mind.
If you’re thinking of getting support for achieving your multilingual goal, don’t search any further. Adam is the knowledgeable and empathetic person you want to have with you on your journey!
“WE CAN’T RECOMMEND HIS SERVICES ENOUGH”

Nahir and Gregor in the US, originally from Argentina and Germany/Switzerland
We are a Spanish, French and German speaking family living in New York City, away from family and our home cultures. We came across Adam’s website during our search for resources on how to raise a multilingual child. We were concerned and uncertain about how to keep our mother tongues and cultures alive in our family, passing them on to our child.
We are happy to have contacted Adam in an early stage of our journey, as his support positively impacted our family decisions on, for example, activities to engage in; how to balance the more than two languages we want to pass on (we are not the typical “one parent, one language” parents!); the type of books to buy; daycare search, etc. It helped us to be more aware of our culture and how to share it with our little one while keeping it fun for everybody!
We can’t recommend his services enough! Thank you, Adam!
“ADAM HAS HELPED ME WITH ONGOING SUPPORT”

Mayken in France, originally from Germany
As mostly the only source of the minority language, with no practical experience in bilingual child-raising, I often had doubts and questions. Adam has helped me with ongoing support over the years of my daughter’s childhood, giving me advice and sharing his experience with his own kids who are a few years older than mine and what strategies had worked for them. With Adam’s guidance and reassurance, I’m now looking forward more confidently to my daughter’s teenage years.
“I WAS LUCKY TO BE COACHED BY ADAM”

Aminah in Canada, originally from Pakistan
I was looking for help with getting my 4-year-old son to speak Urdu along with English. Adam was very attentive, warm, and helpful, and took the time to listen to my concerns. He then offered very practical advice and tips tailored to our situation.
I happily recommend Adam to any parents who value bilingualism and are looking for advice and support on this journey. I was lucky to be coached by Adam!
“I HAD SERIOUS CONCERNS ABOUT MY MULTILINGUAL JOURNEY”
Marisa in the US, originally from Spain
